Email Marketing:

I believe every business should have some form of lead collection and using those leads, market their products and services. Think about the sales funnel process: starts with awareness and interest, consideration, intent, evaluation, and then purchase. But how do you get your customer from point A to B? Email marketing gets you to collect your customers information (email addresses) and then you can use those leads to provide valuable information or special offers so that you can help them go from point A, to B, a lot faster. Building an email list is vital, but it can be a lot of work if you don’t know what you’re doing. Many companies have tried email marketing only to state that it simply ‘did not work for them’, for those individuals we say ‘you were probably not doing it correctly’. First and foremost, collecting your email subscribers is one of the more difficult tasks- how the heck and why the heck would someone want to leave you their email on your website (they’re probably already thinking “scam”). It’s in the way of the approach- “subscribe today and receive monthly tips on how to ____”, or “subscribe to join our mailing list and be entitled to receive VIP discounts on our _____ services every month”. Collecting leads is fairly easy, if you are doing it correctly. After you have successfully collected your leads (emails) you then have hundreds of strategies you can initiate. You can either do some direct email marketing by sending these individuals targeted advertisements of your products/services, open house dates and promotional offers, or you can take that one step further and use that same subscriber list to initiate remarketing tactics (see remarketing).

If you’re looking for a great email marketing platform where you can collect your leads, construct beautiful opt-in forms to place on your website, and to send out a variety of very appealing email campaigns then MailChimp is the way to go. With over eight million people using MailChimp, it’s one of the most powerful email marketing platforms on the market.

Canva:

It can be quite time consuming to construct social media and display advertisements if you’re not a graphic designer. If you’ve ever ran a social media marketing campaign you’d know that sometimes you have to reconstruct ads quite often to find the one that works the best (to find the one that is most visually appealing and lowest cost). But what happens if you’re not a graphic designer? Canva makes it possible to provide professional looking templates for all your graphic design needs. Canva allows brands to seamlessly create eye catching illustrations- simply work with one of their templates, upload a picture, and choose a variety of filters, fonts, icons and simple drag and drop options for a beautifully designed ad that didn’t take much skill.

Google Analytics:

Get the data you need to make intelligent marketing and business decisions with Google Analytics. We are quite amazed when we come across business websites that don’t use Google Analytics. Metrics provide valuable information about your online traffic, content, the location searches of your customers, your conversions, landing page quality and many more. Google Analytics allows you to turn these online insights into action. How can you measure the impact of your current marketing initiatives if you don’t have any online tracking? Furthermore, how can you improve your online efforts if you have no concrete data about your website and your customers? Marketing measurements have never been more important than it is now. Business owners and marketers who deploy complete analytics are 39% more likely to see improvement in the performance of their marketing initiatives. Gain important insights of your online audience such as the demographics of your online users, their geographic location, overview of mobile usage, referrer channels (are your customers coming from organic searches, paid searches, social media, email, or referrals), or user flow (what did they do after landing on your website). Get insights on which pages are viewed most often, which led to the most bounce rates (exits), and track conversions (online actions).

Google Keyword Planner and Google Trends:

You may have set up your AdWords account and now you’re ready to start bidding on keywords. But where do you start? How do you know which keywords are most relevant for your business? Two tools that can help identify search trends, keyword volume, and keyword relevancy is Google’s Keyword Planner and Google Trends.

The Keyword Planner is found in your AdWords account which provides estimates on competition, cost for searched terms/phrases and the average search volume of a selected keyword (or phrases). You can even go in depth with keyword trends to find location specific information (bids for Toronto or New York City vs less expensive suburban areas).

Google Trends allows you to explore various keywords, searches and phrases, to see how these terms are trending over time. Using this information, advertisers can prioritize certain keywords and compare these search results to see where to place most of their efforts in the future.

Entrepreneur.com increased their sales by 162%, and subscriptions by 86 % thanks to pop-ups. If you enable pop-ups with the right message, they can do wonders for your business.
